Spring Has (Almost) Sprung. Here's 5 Tips for Springtime Car Maintenance.


With warmer weather peeking its head out between the last of Colorado's winter storms, it's time again to begin thinking about springtime car maintenance. Stevinson Automotive has a few helpful reminders to help you avoid costly repairs down the line. Take a few minutes to review your car's performance by following our checklist below:


1. Tires

When was the last time you had your tires rotated and balanced? By Spring, they're probably ready for another rotation. Bring your car by and we'll check your tires for any impact or cuts caused by winter driving conditions and worn roadways.

2. Antifreeze

Your vehicle's radiator cools the engine with water and coolant, or antifreeze. Check to see if the liquid reaches the “Full” line on the side of the coolant reservoir to ensure proper protection is present for the summer months.

3. Belts, Hoses and Plugs

Drastic temperature changes can cause materials like rubber and insulation to lose elasticity and crack. Check belts, hoses and spark plugs for signs of wear and tear. 

4. Windshield 

If we know anything about Colorado roadways, we know that your windshield has at least one crack or pit. Damage can increase over time and decrease the effectiveness of your car's stability. Don't delay on fixing your windshield. 


5. Wipers

Replace your wipers. With April showers coming soon, protect yourself and those around you by ensuring you have optimum visibility in the rain.

Stevinson Automotive + the Denver Rescue Mission

It was a bitter cold Wednesday morning in Lakewood, Colorado when Stevinson Automotive hosted two individuals from the Denver Rescue Missio n, Blake Nauman and Jordan Smith.
